Even though Zardozi craft is known since the Mughal era, work related to embroidery, hand embroidery, munga pearls, silk, etc. was also prevalent in years before that. Zardozi comes from 2 Persian words, "Zar" means gold, and "dozi" means work. Zardozi embroidery is a type of metal embroidery. It involves making elaborate designs, using gold and silver threads along with studded pearls and precious stones.
